Welcome to the BWAC Blog!

Watch for artist interviews, highlights of BWAC exhibits, reviews of museum exhibits in the area and more.

Blockbuster opening at BWAC on Saturday, July 10, 2021. The place was hoppin'. A real treat to see such a rich variety of artwork from artists all over the country. If you weren't there, be sure to get to BWAC
any Saturday and Sunday through August 15, 2021, from 1 to 6 pm.

Dark Waters, Corona Moon, Audrey Anastasi,

For many the main attraction is The Art of Coney Island curated by Alicia Degener. However, that's not all. National juried show Art Over Time is very impressive with a stunning collection of both 2 and 3 dimensional works of art by artists over 65. Susan Newmark's woven collage, House of the Tragic Poet is a favorite of mine from this show. I was inspired by numerous works.

There's more, Plurality, the BWAC members show is a fascinating look at multiples or series. A stand out was Mary Creeds graphite series,  A Day's Work. Here's one of the series included in the exhibit.

Perhaps the icing on the cake is the work of  92 year old artist, Bernette Rudolph. Her one woman retrospective is on view on the first level gallery appropriately with the Art Over Time show. I found this wonderful short video of Bernette talking about her art.

Welcome to the BWAC blog. Coming soon a deeper dive into these shows and interviews with exhibiting artist.
